This in-person workshop will provide an in-depth case discussion on six abdominal and pelvic topics covering rectum, liver, pancreas, bowel, prostate and gynaecological imaging.
The sessions will comprise of case presentation and discussions, as well as mini lectures from our keynote speaker, supported by our local Australian and New Zealand faculty. Please note that there are no individual workstations for this workshop.


Dr Kumaresan Sandrasegaran is the Senior Associate Consultant at Mayo Clinic, Arizona.
A leading expert in abdominal imaging, Dr Sandrasegaran brings decades of clinical insight and research leadership to our event. His work spans the full spectrum of abdominal cancer imaging—supporting precise initial staging, nuanced post‑therapy assessment, and high‑value postoperative evaluation following complex surgical procedures. He is also widely recognized for his expertise in image‑guided biopsy and drainage, particularly for molecular‑genetics‑driven diagnosis.
With over 150 peer‑reviewed publications and more than 300 scientific presentations delivered worldwide, Dr Sandrasegaran is an influential voice in radiology. His pioneering contributions to liver imaging—especially hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC)—have earned him roles on six major research grants and speaking invitations across the USA and in 12 countries.
Dr Sandrasegaran has also taken on significant leadership roles across international radiology organizations, including serving as co-chair of the Abdominal CT Course for the American College of Radiology.

A leading abdominal imaging expert, Dr Sandrasegaran specializes in cancer staging, post‑therapy and postoperative assessment, and advanced image‑guided biopsy. He has authored 150+ peer‑reviewed papers, presented 300+ scientific talks, and contributed to six research grants focused on hepatocellular carcinoma.
His leadership includes roles across major radiology organisations, notably as co‑chair of the ACR Abdominal CT Course. We’re honored to have him join us and share his insights.
AUSTRALIA AND NEW ZEALAND FACULTY


Dr Kirsten Gormly is a consultant radiologist at Jones Radiology, South Australia. She has special interests in oncology imaging and pelvic MRI including rectal cancer, prostate cancer, female urology and benign and malignant gynaecological conditions. She was trained in rectal MRI by Prof Gina Brown while working at the Royal Marsden Hospital, London in 2002-4. Kirsten is past chair of ARGANZ and an honorary clinical senior lecturer at The University of Adelaide. She was elected as a Corresponding Fellow of ESGAR in 2023 and a Fellow of the International Cancer Imaging Society (ICIS) in 2024. She is a member of the Lower GI working party of the Australasian Gastro-Intestinal Trials Group (AGITG) and the research committee of the South Australian Prostate Cancer Clinical Outcomes Collaborative (SA-PCCOC). Kirsten has a number of published papers and books, regularly presents at national and international conferences and workshops including Radiology Across Borders, and promotes collaboration between radiologists and other speciality groups.

Dr Jash Agraval graduated from the University of Auckland Medical School in 2007 and completed his radiology training in Auckland. He then undertook subspecialty fellowship training in Oncologic and Molecular imaging at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Centre in New York, returning to Auckland in 2016. He is currently the Clinical Director of Radiology at North Shore and Waitakere Hospitals, as well as the clinical lead for the Health NZ Transforming Diagnostic Imaging (TDI) project.
Jash has subspecialty interests in PET-CT and oncologic imaging with a particular focus in hepatobiliary, gynaecologic and prostate imaging.
An active member of the Royal Australia NZ College of Radiologists (RANZCR), Jash is the Deputy Chief Censor and Chair of the Curriculum Assessment Committee. He also sits on the Education and Training Committee, Research Committee and Maori, Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander Executive Committee. Jash is an active member of Radiology Across Borders where he is the co-lead in the International Certificate of Radiology Fundamentals (ICRF) which provides radiology education and support to developing nations.
North Shore and Waitakere Hospital, Auckland


Dr Jessica Yang is a staff specialist radiologist at Royal Prince Alfred and Concord Hospitals, and Macquarie University Hospital in Sydney. She subspecialises in abdominal and pelvic imaging and works closely with clinical specialties and is an active member of multidisciplinary team meetings including liver, colorectal, IBD, paediatric IBD and pelvic floor. She is involved in multiple research projects, frequently in collaboration with clinical specialties. Her team’s research on abbreviated MRI for HCC surveillance was awarded the Mendelson Research Prize in 2019 and the project is currently being funded by two grants for a prospective pilot study. She is one of the chief investigators on the SCANPatient research project which received MRFF grant funding. Her research has been published in high impact factor journals such as Radiology, Clinical gastroenterology and hepatology, European Radiology and Abdominal Radiology. Jessica was an author on the ESGAR consensus statement on the imaging of fistula-in-ano and other causes of anal sepsis. Jessica has been invited to speak at international and national meetings and workshops including at the European Society of Gastrointestinal and Abdominal Radiology (ESGAR) meetings.
Royal Prince Alfred, Concord Hospital, Sydney


Dr Kate McLean has an avid interest in hepatopancreatobiliary imaging with publications related to the assessment of potential hepatic transplant recipients and the assessment of treatment response post curative intent SBRT for hepatocellular carcinoma. She is one of the lead radiologists on the SOCRATES trial. Dr McLean is a member of the liver, pancreatic and upper GI expert working groups for the RD-stage project and supports many prospective trainees and training radiologists in their research pursuits.
Dr McLean has a strong focus on teaching with roles as a senior lecturer with University of Queensland, supervisor of training radiologists and former Director of Training for Princess Alexandra Hospital. She has presented at multiple state and national conferences and regularly participates in hepatoma, hepatobiliary and colorectal multidisciplinary meetings. She works at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane.

Dr Dean Rabinowitz trained in Radiology between Royal Perth Hospital in WA and Prince of Wales Hospital in Sydney before obtaining advanced training in cardiac CT/MRI and body imaging (with MRI emphasis) in 2013-14. He currently holds a staff specialist position at Prince of Wales/Sydney Children’s Hospital (body imaging/oncology intervention/cardiothoracic subspecialist roles). He has an interest in contrast enhanced ultrasound and has advocated for its wider use in Australian practice, to match overseas use. He is a conjoint lecturer with the POWH-UNSW Clinical School and has been a Director of Training at Prince of Wales Hospital.

Dr Teng Han Tan is a consultant radiologist at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre in Melbourne. He is the CT Lead Radiologist for the Department of Radiology at Peter Mac, and is an Honorary Clinical Lecturer at the Sir Peter MacCallum Department of Oncology at the University of Melbourne. A Body Radiologist with an interest in Pelvic MRI, he participates in the Lower GI and Gynae Oncology Multidisciplinary meetings. He has a strong interest in teaching, and is involved in Registrar and Fellow training.
